Working Thesis

Standard: 
W.11-12.2 Write informative/explanatory texts to examine and convey complex ideas, concepts, and information clearly and accurately through the effective selection, organization, and analysis of content. 

Obj: I can write an informative essay to examine complex ideas, concepts, and information dealing with themes in transcendental literature through effective selection, organization, and analysis of content. 

EQ: How does transcendental and anti-transcendental literature create themes dealing with identity?

Starter: 

Take out the interactive standards packet.
Unpack the standard W.11-12.2.
Then, complete the prior to unit reflection.
Circle the number from the learning target and write a one sentence explanation for your assessment.

3.  Developing a Working Thesis

Complete the handout to create a working thesis for your essay.
You will need to decide on what THREE texts you will analyze.
Then, begin to gather potential evidence to determine your response to the question. 
Essentially, you should work from the bottom to the top.

4.  Gathering Textual Evidence

Once you have your working thesis, find concrete support for your claim.
You should have a minimum of one quote per text.
